St. John’s Food Basket Ministry
The St. John’s Food Basket Ministry invites YOU to help us help those in need.
Matthew (chapter 25, verse 35) says “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…”.
We collect non-perishable, non-expired food as well as money donations. Our focus is to provide ingredients for making after-school sandwiches throughout the year and assemble Thanksgiving Baskets for the needy in November. In addition to these two goals, we also donate all surplus food collected throughout the year to Boca Helping Hands on a monthly basis.
Boca Helping Hands
We have partnered with Boca Helping Hands to provide our surplus to the poor and hungry in our local community. Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is a community-based 501(c)(3) organization that was formed in 1998 by a group of local religious congregations.. http://bocahelpinghands.com/
Our History
Founded August 2001, we take our name from the miracle of five loaves and two fish, when Christ fed more than five thousand, with twelve basketsful left over.
