Parish History . . .
1992
July 1992 - St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish established. Father Ronald Schultz appointed administrator.
November 1, 1992 - First Mass held at Olympic Heights High School cafeteria. Parish center and offices located at the Plaza of Boca Hamptons.
1995
November 1, 1995 - Fr. Ronald Schultz installed as first Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
October 1, 1995 - St. John’s Parish rented space at Hampton Square Plaza for a Parish center and chapel.
1997
August 31, 1997 - Father Schultz goes on sabbatical for further studies.
September 22, 1997 - Fr. Michael O’Flaherty was appointed Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish.
November 15, 1997 - Fr. O’Flaherty was installed as the new Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish.
1998
November 12, 1998 - Pope John Paul II appointed the Most Reverend Anthony J. O'Connell, First Bishop of Knoxville, Tennessee, to serve as the Third Bishop of Palm Beach.
1999
February 1999 - St. John the Evangelist Capital Campaign begun. Goal: $1,000,000
July 1999 - St. John's goes on-line at www.ontargetbusiness.net/stjohn
September 1999 - Bishop O’Connell Assigns Deacon Paul Murray to be Permanent Deacon at St. John’s
2000
January 2000 - Bishop O'Connell joins Father Michael O'Flaherty for Groundbreaking Ceremony
June 2000 - Father Michael O'Flaherty celebrates his Silver Jubilee - 25 years in the priesthood! 
July 2000 - Father Baboo serves during Father O'Flaherty's visit to Ireland.
November 2000 - Special Mass and reception in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Father O’Flaherty’s Ordination to the Priesthood. 
2001
February 28, 2001 - Ash Wednesday - Last Mass in the Hampton Square Plaza location on Kimberly Drive. 
March 4, 2001 - First Sunday Mass in new location!
August 2001 - Father Baboo returns to serve during Father O'Flaherty's visit to Ireland; St. John's Food Basket is formed.
September 14, 2001 As requested by President Bush, St. John's held a special Mass at noon joining our nation in prayer for God’s mercy and compassion on all those who were affected by the tragedies of September 11, 2001.  Read the words of Pope John Paul II in his Condolence to the USA.
2002
Seniors Club started with monthly luncheons and special events.
Youth Group Renaissance! The Donneys lead a revitalized ministry.
Patricia Raymond becomes new Director of Religious Education.
2003
Mommy and Me Group begins.
Bereavement Ministry is begun.
Life in the Spirit Seminar sponsored by Living Waters Prayer Group February through April.
St. John's Knights of Columbus offer first annual Senior Scholarships.
